Role Overview

As a Contract Administrator at Bridgeway Engineering, you will lead contract administration activities for MTO transportation projects, ensuring contractual compliance, financial accuracy, and efficient project delivery. You will work closely with project managers, inspectors, and stakeholders to support successful project execution.

What You'll Do

  • Lead contract administration for highway and bridge projects in accordance with MTO requirements.
  • Manage the contract administration team, ensuring efficient project delivery.
  • Oversee project execution, ensuring all contractual obligations, schedules, and deliverables are met.
  • Review and analyze contractor billings and prepare payment status reports.
  • Research project correspondence and prepare summaries with actionable recommendations.
  • Develop billing instructions and contract related guidance for project teams.
  • Prepare financial reports related to contract costs, funding, and project status.
  • Manage opening and closing of project charge numbers for authorized expenses.
  • Administer Requests for Quotations (RFQs) for assigned contracts.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with contractors to monitor project progress, resolve issues and ensure timely completion of the project.

What We're Looking For

  • Completion of MTO TLT131 – Advanced Claims / Dispute Resolution training
  • Experience as a Contract Administrator or Senior Road Construction Inspector on multiple MTO projects, including:
    • At least one project with a tender value of $2.6 million or greater.
    • Grading, drainage, and hot mix paving contracts.
    • New structures or structural replacement contracts.
  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Registration with PEO or OACETT, or eligibility for registration.
  • Strong organizational and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prepare and review, and financial documentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of MTO Construction Administration And Inspection Specifications (CAIS) Manual, Ontario Provincial Standards Specifications (OPSS), and QA/QC practices.
  • Proficiency in Kahua Construction Management System (CMS) is considered a strong asset.
